BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

Background/Summary:

The California Department of Food and Agriculture wishes to contract with the County of San Benito to provide inspections of junk dealer and recycling establishments licensed as a Weighmaster to determine compliance with the Business and Professions Code Section 12703.1.  The contract reimburses the County for 3 initial inspections at a rate of $240.00 per inspection.  The term of the contract is July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.


The work is performed by existing staff and the funding level is sufficient to cover our costs.  The anticipated revenue and expense has been budgeted in the Agricultural Commissioner's Budget for FY2018/2019.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

1. Approve Contract #18-0141-000-SA between the California Department of Food & Agriculture and the County of San Benito for Weighmaster Enforcement activities from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.  Total contract value is $720.00.

2.  Authorize the Chair to sign the contract.
