BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Board originally approved a contract with HMC Architects for the Jail Expansion project on July 9, 2013. The original contract has been previously amended four times. The original contract amount of $1,470,000 has been amended by $110,842.25. The current requested amendment is for $12,420.
Through the course of construction, RMA and Sheriff staff have requested minor revisions to the design of the project. Many of these revisions were completed without the need for much consultant coordination and were prepared without additional cost. However, several of these changes do require extra work from the consultants. These revisions will further improve the maintenance and operations of the new facility. These revisions include the following:
- Revise location of water softening system
- Revise location of inmate payphones in Booking area
- Add hose bibbs to each recreation yard
- Relocate door 121C to other side of room
- Revise portion of rear parking lot fence location
