BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The bulk of the proposed River Parkway project occurs on potentially environmentally sensitive land. The project’s EIR identifies many potential concerns, however not all of them will apply to this first phase of the project. Since the Access Road is located outside of the flood plain on previously disturbed land, the scope of this contract is limited to the key issues that could still be present at this location. Even in previously disturbed areas, care must still be taken to identify and protect a number of plant and animal species, as well as cultural resources.
