BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Section 2121 of the Streets and Highways Code provides that in May of each year, each County shall submit to the Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) any additions to or exclusions from its mileage of maintained County roads, specifying the termini and mileage of each route added or excluded. The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2017-79 on August 8, 2017, certifying the updated County maintained roads with total mileage of 454,531 miles. Since adoption of Resolution No. 2017-79, portions of County Maintained Mileage have been annexed to the City of Hollister and also, staff discovered errors regarding the record of total mileage of maintained County Roads. Staff has updated the record of total mileage of maintained County roads to be 452,051 miles. Staff has prepared a spreadsheet highlighting the roads to be removed and roads to be adjusted due to City of Hollister annexations from the list of County maintained roads, incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit A. The updated record of mileage of maintained County roads is incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit B.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
1. Adopt Resolution 2018-__ certifying the updated County maintained roads with total mileage of 452,051 miles; and
2. Order that a copy of the Resolution and all of its Exhibits shall be filed in the Office of the San Benito County Resource Management Agency; and
3. Order that the San Benito County Resource Management Agency, Public Works Division staff transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to CALTRANS.
