Approve U.C. Davis Training Contracts for Human Services Staff for
fiscal year 2018-2019, for a total amount of $119,000.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Health
and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has utilized UC Davis Extension Center for
Human Services for on-site training services for several years to provide
mandated standardized training for staff. The UC Davis Extension on-site
trainings are a cost effective and time efficient way to provide required
trainings for social service staff. Training is provided at a HHSA
facility and UC Davis provides the instructor and training materials which is
included in the contract price. The HHSA is able to avoid overnight
travel and other related costs.
UC
Davis provides an in-kind contribution of $850 for Child Welfare, $3,400 for
Eligibility and CalWORKs staff, $850 for Adult Services staff and $6,800
for general/fiscal staff training programs, which is reflected in the contract
price. The net cost to HHSA for these contracts is $107,100.
This contract has been incorporated in the FY18/19 requested budget. There is no impact to the County General Fund.

1)CW-2018-27 at $8,500 ($850
inkind) for 2 units of training for Child Welfare staff
2)GENT-2018-27 at $68,000 ($6,800 in
kind) for 16 units of training for General/Fiscal staff
3)EW-2018-27 at $34,000 ($3,400 in
kind) for 8 units of training for Eligibility and CalWORKs staff.
4)XX-2018-27 at $8,500 ($850 in kind) for 2 units of
training for Adult Services staff.
