BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Some adult Behavioral Health Department clients may require inpatient, sub-acute level psychiatric skilled nursing services as part of their ongoing treatment plan. This contract provides a resource for this level of service. Our County does not have this type of service available in our local community.
By history the Behavioral Health Department has utilized this contract service provider and several other similar providers for this level of care. The Behavioral Health Department may place three to four adult clients per year at sub-acute level psychiatric skilled nursing facilities. These clients are generally placed at these facilities on an involuntary basis while under conservatorship
