BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Some older adult clients require supervised residential care that also provides mental health treatment and support as part of their ongoing treatment plan. The Behavioral Health Department may place three to four adult clients per year at residential care facilities. These clients are generally placed at these facilities on an involuntary LPS conserved basis. The Behavioral Health Department contracts with several such facilities to assure available bed options and to meet the prescriptive personal needs of our clients. This contract renewal provides a resource for this level of service through Front Street, Inc. San Benito County does not have this type of service available in the local community. This contract service is funded with a combination of patient SSI (supplemental security income) benefits and mental health realignment funds.
