CONSENT AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On June 22, 2016 your Board approved the relocation and lease of 351 Tres Pinos #A202 for the County’s Public Health facility.
The Information Technology Department obtained quotes from 3 vendors (copies attached) and respectfully requests that the Board approve the attached quote for equipment and installation costs from Keep It Simple (KIS) total amount of $29,308.08. This quote/technology will provide the Public Health division with newer technology for greater mobility with portable data processing, WiFi access points, electronic medical records keeping and greater data/network security. The cost of installation and deployment are $1,000.00 well below the thresholds required for bidding.
The County’s IT department has re-evaluated our network environment and further determined based on our discoveries the best possible technology for our county network fabric and IT team. A great consideration has been budgeting, the technology and services being proposed today, provides a saving to the county of $13,380.69 from the previous BOS approved technology quote. The process of choosing a solution included presentations from additional competing technologies and vendors, along with newly discovered county network hardware needs.
It is IT’s opinion that Keep It Simple's (KIS) quote for hardware, software and installation, and maintenance services represent the best package solution for the relocation of the PUBH department, county network environment, and county IT staff at the lowest cost to the county. IT staff would like to move forward with the best budgeted quote.
The funding for this project is included in the FY17/18 budget for Public Health and there is no impact to the County General Fund.
