Approve renewal of software maintenance with VMWARE. The renewal is for a 3 year subscription, in the amount of $48,533.76.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
VMWARE provides processor support to the IT department's overall technology system. We normally renew this support on an annual basis. The rate charged for a 1-year renewal period would be $18,384.00. If we only renew for a 1-year period, the renewal rates for the second and third years would likely increase. However, VMWARE has offered the County a discount of 12% if we choose the 3-year renewal option, in the amount of $48,533.76. Selecting the 3-year renewal option would result in a savings to the County of more than $6,600.00 over the 3-year term.
