BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) has provided county Local Lead Agency's (LLA) with funding to contract with external evaluators to complete program evaluation activities since 1991.
NMK Research & Consulting is an approved evaluation consulting service with CTCP. Natasha Kowalski is the lead evaluator and has over 24 years in evaluating tobacco control programs.
This NMK Research & Consulting contract amendment will be to provide evaluation services for multiple years to the Tobacco Education Program within San Benito County Public Health Services. The contract is amended to extend the end date to June 30, 2021 with the total contract amount of $83,640 ( 28,560 for FY17/18, $18,360 for FY 18/19; $18,360 for FY 19/20; and $18,360 for FY 20/21). The attached budget adjustment redistributes current appropriations to fully fund this amendment.

It is respectfully recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
1) Approve the contract amendment for NMK Research & Consulting.
2) Authorize the Board Chair to sign the contract amendment with NMK for $83,640 for the term of July 1, 2017-June 30, 2021.
3) Approved budget adjustment for redistribution of current year appropriations to fully fund the contract as amended.
