AGENDA SECTION:

CONSENT AGENDA

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The Veterans Memorial Park Irrigation Improvements project was originally budgeted at $300,000.  The consultant design contract approved last year was $38,050 and the recently awarded construction contract is $260,140.  This only leaves a remaining balance of $1,810 for potential change orders that may arise.  Staff recommends that the Board approve the allocation of an additional $25,000 from Park Impact Fees to cover potential change orders during construction and grant authority to the Interim RMA Director to issue change orders up to this amount.  This is the maximum amount allowed by the Public Contract Code.  This will help minimize delays during construction.
