Zoning Ordinance Update Report and Presentation:  This is an overview presentation of the County’s progress work on the Zoning Ordinance Update and review of the public draft of the Zoning Code Update to write an updated zoning ordinance that achieve the vision and goals outlined in the 2035 General Plan. The draft product includes priorities outlined in the Housing Element 2014–2023, Specific Plans, and current state law.  The presentation will be given by staff and the County’s consultant, Interwest Consulting Group, Inc. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:  The report and presentation are not subject to CEQA under State CEQA Guidelines, but the eventual completed Zoning Ordinance Updates are subject to CEQA under State CEQA Guidelines and an appropriate CEQA document will be included at that time when brought to Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for action. Two items are enclosed.  One is a presentation summarizing the purpose, activities, and progress of the Zoning Code Update.  The other is the Public Review Draft Zoning Code itself, intended to express zoning rules in a more logical order, to simplify description of permitted and conditional uses, to update content to reflect current State law, and to implement portions of the 2035 General Plan.  Planning staff and the project consultant will present and request direction on this update.
