Approve Amendment #2 with Golder Associates, Inc. extending the term of the original contract through June 30, 2017 for one additional year of monitoring and reporting.

This contract with Golder Associates Inc. provides groundwater monitoring and reporting services required by Waste Discharge Requirements with the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the Solid Waste Facilities permit with CalRecycle, and other permits with the Department of Toxic Substances Control at John Smith Road Landfill Class 1 & 3 sites.  The only item left on the scope of services is the Class 1 Permit.  It is estimated this permit will be obtained early this Fiscal Year.

The original contract included work required to obtain the permits for the John Smith Road Landfill Class 1 site.  No addition scope or funding is required.  This amendment will modify the ending date terms for an additional year, increase the work scope for one year of well monitoring and reporting for a cost of $20,000.  The existing contract has $11,781.22 remaining and will be increased for this additional scope of work through IWM Landfill budget.

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

1. Approve Amendment #2 extending the term of the original contract through June 30, 2017 with one year additional monitoring and reporting scope of work for $20,000; and

2. Authorize the Chair to sign Amendment #2.
