BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Behavioral Health Department child and adolescent clients placed in residential treatment facilities may require additional mental health services provided by the residential facilities. This contract provides for this level of service at this facility. The higher level of care facilities often require that counties agree to purchase additional mental health services as a condition of acceptance of a child for placement. This provider is one that County CPS and Juvenile Probation Departments have placed children at. It is in our County’s interest to have the ability to procure mental health services at facilities our County may possibly place children with. The portion of Behavioral Health Department’s fiscal responsibility for this service is funded from realigned mental health funds, including Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment MediCal (EPSDT). Expenditures will occur only if services are utilized.

These child/adolescent clients are generally under the jurisdiction of the County’s Juvenile Probation Department or the Child Protective Services Division of the Health and Human Services Agency as the placing agencies
