Hold a Public Hearing to consider the Continuation of a benefit assessment in fiscal year 2016-2017 that funds County Service Area #36 for Emergency Medical Services and Advanced Life Support services for the County of San Benito; consider and adopt proposed Resolution accepting Annual Report for CSA #36 Emergency Medical Services and Advanced Life Support.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Pursuant to former Government Code §25210.77a, given continued effect through Government Code §25210.3(d), the Board of Supervisors is required to hold a public hearing to consider an annual written report for the extension of services for County Service Areas and the benefit assessment charges set forth in the report. The annual report for CSA 36 for Emergency Medical Services and Advanced Life Support and the charges considered for FY 2016/2017 is attached for review. Upon conclusion of the hearing and no objection to revise, change, reduce or modify, the Board of Supervisors may adopt a resolution accepting the annual report and adopting charges set for therein.
To continue funding the essential services of the EMS Agency, including the proposed system enhancements detailed within this annual report, the assessment rate for CSA 36 for FY 2016/2017 is proposed at $14.00 per Benefit Assessment Unit. The Benefit Assessment is charged county-wide and represents no change per assessment unit from FY 2015/2016.

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Hold a Public Hearing to hear all objections, protests, or requested changes or corrections to the written report of service for County Service Area 36 (Emergency Medical Services and Advanced Life Support) for FY 2016/2017.
2. Adopt a resolution accepting the Annual Report for CSA 36 and benefit assessment charges set forth therein and authorize Chair to sign.
