Approve contract Renewal with Rebekah Children’s Services, Inc. for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 for a maximum amount of $40,000.

The State Department of Health Care Services/Mental Health Division (DHCS) has been mandated by Court Order to provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) for Medi-Cal beneficiaries under the age of 21 who meet DHCS’s medical necessity criteria for TBS. DHCS has contracted with the County Behavioral Health Department to be the designated Medi-Cal Managed Care Mental Health Plan (MHP) for San Benito County Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The County Behavioral Health Department must in turn as the MHP fulfill the TBS mandate. Our options to provide the mandated services within San Benito County are very limited. Rebekah Children’s Services has the experience and staff resources to provide TBS on our behalf and they are located in nearby Gilroy making it feasible for their organization to provide TBS services for children residing in San Benito.

(3)   OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

Placements of children out of home generally occur through our County’s Child Protective Services, the Juvenile Probation Dept. or as a special education placement through the County Department of Education.
