BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
San Benito County Resource Management Agency, Division of Planning and Building has conducted Building Services through an outside building support services group for permit processing and building official guidance since 2005. Planning and Building has recently acquired a new permit software system "Accella" which was approved by the Board on April 26, 2016. Implementation is underway and in-house permit processing will be operational by July 1, 2016. The department has work hard to establish internal building services knowledge while training new staff who now perform in-house permit processing. Staff pursued potential consultants capable of providing 3rd party outside plan checking services for permits requiring review, on-call/specialized inspection services and Building Official technical guidance at competitive rates. The current contract provider was not the successful candidate therefore the contract before you will replace the existing structure, providing the necessary resources needed to accomplish in-house permit processing services and establish a larger revenue base for current and long term inspection services.
