BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On April 12, 2016, the Board adopted a resolution approving the County’s contributions to health insurance for employees and retirees represented by the Deputy Sheriff’s Association Memorandum of Understanding. The County has since learned that CalPERS has changed the required wording needed in the resolution. In order for these new contribution rates to become effective June 1, 2016, it is necessary to adopt the attached resolution and submit it to CalPERS prior to April 30, 2016

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
1. Adopt Resolution fixing the employer’s contribution under the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act only with respect to members of the Deputy Sheriff's Association.
2. Fix the employer’s contribution at an amount at or greater than that prescribed by Section 22892(b) of the Government Code.
