BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Western States Sheriff's Association is holding their annual conference from March 5-9, 2016 in Reno, NV. This conference has proven to be beneficial in that it allows a broader discussion into issues facing all counties not just those in California. This year a topic of discussion, which has been at the forefront with California State Sheriff's, will be mental health issues within detention facilities.
The cost of this conference has been included in the FY 2016-17 adopted budget. The estimated total cost which includes registration, lodging, per-diem and fuel is $1,195.
