BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Last year, the County conducted an RFP process to solicit proposals from interested developers for the sale and development of the old Southside Hospital property. Through the process, the Board selected CSDC as the top choice and directed staff to begin negotiations. CSDC has requested to enter into an MOU with the County and a purchase option so that their Board has some assurances before spending money on the conceptual project.
Approving the MOU and purchase option will allow CSDC to proceed with the studies and grant applications required to fully fund their project. Additionally, staff will proceed with a lot line adjustment to slightly reconfigure the property and allow for the desired number of housing units. If these agreements are approved, work will continue and this project will return to the Board when the CEQA documents are ready.
