Adoption of Resolution accepting the 2017 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) #17F 2034, approving the grant agreement and authorizing the Director to execute the agreement.

CSWD requests adoption of a resolution to accept the 2017 CSBG grant, approve the grant agreement, and authorize the HHSA Director to take certain actions necessary to administer the grant, including entering into and signing the grant agreement, any amendments to the grant agreement, and any other documents pertaining to such grant, for and on behalf of the County. 

The State Department of Community Services & Development (CSD) has issued an initial allocation to this contract in the amount of $70,764 for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.  CSD will then amend our contract to reflect an augmentation of $195,875 for a total allocation of $266,639 for 2017. CSBG funding will be used to operate anti poverty programs including the Winter Shelter program for homeless families, supportive services for low-income residents and for general operations of other programs in the department.

1.  Adopt Resolution # __________accepting the 2017 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) #17-2034 and approving the grant agreement;

2.  Authorize the HHSA Director to execute the Grant Agreement (Contract #17F-2034), and any amendments and other documents related to the grant, for and on behalf of the County of San Benito.
