BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Babe Ruth League has been using the large baseball field at Vets Park for a number of years, via a tri-annual agreement with the County. The current agreement was renewed in 2011. It has been automatically extended by an "evergreen" clause that provides for automatic one-year renewal if no action is taken. The League managers have approached the County about making substantial investments in landscaping the field itself and improving other support facilities, asking for a longer term agreement so that they could be assured of amortizing their investment.
On December 5, 2016, the Vets Park Commission voted unanimously to approve the attached agreement, which extends the Babe Ruth tenancy until June 30, 2022.
