Approve contract with Youth Alliance in the amount of $60,000 for the provision of Counseling Services for CalWORKs clients, for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016, in the amount of  $60,000; and authorize the Board Chair to sign said agreement.

CalWORKs  is a cash aid program for low income families to meet their basic needs. It also provides education, employment, supportive services and training programs to help families get jobs and move towards self-sufficiency. Clients in the CalWORKs program are often faced with multitude barriers including the need for counseling services. The County entered into contract last fiscal year and wishes to continue these services with the Youth Alliance.

The Youth Alliance will provide individual client assessments and provide child, family or individual or group counseling services to eligible CalWORKs clients. In addition, will conduct individual therapeutic sessions and group sessions as needed with an emphasis on group work as deemed appropriate. Progress and fiscal reports will be submitted on a monthly basis to ensure program success. The term of the contract is from July 2016-June 2017. The Youth Alliance has only served existing clients from last fiscal year who required continued counseling services. New clients will be referred when the contract is approved.
