BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On February 23, 2016, The Board of Supervisors approved agreement #15-0544-SF with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to provide detection trapping services for the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP). The CDFA wishes to amend this contract to fund the expanded trapping activities that resulted from the detection of four additional Asian citrus psyllids between April and July 2016. The original term of the contract has been extended through December 31, 2016 and adds $93,623 for a new total not to exceed $193,121.
Although work will be performed by current regular and seasonal staff, the Temporary Salary line item will need to be increased as well as the unanticipated increase in revenue. I am requesting the Agricultural Commissioner's FY2016/2017 budget be augmented to reflect the offsetting increase in revenue and increased appropriation for Temporary help to perform the additional work related to the expanded trapping requirements.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
1. Approve Amendment 1 to Agreement #15-0544-SF between the California Department of Food & Agriculture and the County of San Benito for Asian citrus psyllid trapping activities, extending term of cooperative agreement to December 31, 2016, and increasing total contract amount to $193,121.00.
2. Authorize the Chair to sign the contract.
3. Approve budget adjustment (for unanticipated revenue/Temporary Salaries) in the amount of $30,000.00. (4/5 vote)
