BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
In August 1995, President Bill Clinton officially proclaimed August as National Child Support Awareness Month to ensure America continued to focus on child support and paternity establishment efforts. States across the country continue to observe National Child Support Awareness Month every August by celebrating the strides they have made in establishing paternity, obtaining orders for support, and by collections and distributions of child support payments to families.
The San Benito County Department of Child Support Services requests the Board recognize the month of August 2016 as Child Support Awareness Month in San Benito County.
