BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
During the budget hearings on 06/27/16, under the CBO budget division, a list of organizations and allocations were recommended and temporarily approved. The actual budget adoption will occur on 08/09/16. One of the organizations listed was United Way for $1,000.00. The purpose of their request was to assist in the Stuff the Bus campaign which helps provided needed school supplies to those in need in San Benito County. Their goal is to promote learning, encourage self-esteem, and keep kids in school by providing them the needed school supplies to accomplish these goals.
The Stuff the Bus campaign runs from 07/01/2016 - 08/08/2016. These funds will be used to help purchase the needed school supplies.
