BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
San Benito County has successfully participated in and received funding from the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) since 2001. This act provides funding for those counties interested in developing and implementing programs aimed at deterring juvenile crime. San Benito County may be eligible for continued funding from JJCPA and the estimated allocation is approximately $161,402 for fiscal year 2016-2017. The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) estimates that the allocation received by each county for FY2016-2017 will be similar to the allocation amount for FY2015-2016, subject to Legislation appropriation. The Application for Continuation Funding to BSCC for the funds provided by JJCPA is submitted to the Board of Supervisors for review and approval.
