BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On March 22, 2016, the Board adopted a resolution approving the Memorandum of Understanding for the Deputy Sheriff’s Association which included the flat rate health care contributions as provided to all other County employees. In order to implement this change, the Board must adopt a resolution to provide these amounts to CalPERS.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
1. Adopt Resolution fixing the employer’s contribution under the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act only with respect to members of the Deputy Sheriff's Association.
2. Fix the employer’s contribution at an amount at or greater than that prescribed by Section 22892(b) of the Government Code.
