SBC FILE NUMBER: 130
AGENDA SECTION:
CONSENT AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) has identified the need for Lay-Off Aversion services to assist distressed businesses in San Benito County. The WDB has approved moving forward with the contract process with Farm House Communication at their March 8, 2016 meeting due to the ability and expertise to deliver the services in a timely and proficient manner and their expertese and affiliation with the business sector. The WDB released a request for quotation procurement process in February. Farm House Communications was the only respondent to the procurement notice.
In addition, the owner of Farm House Communication has a great understanding of the issues affecting our business community and has the ability to identify distressed businesses and provide Lay-Off Aversion strategies. The proposed services include: 1) One-to-One Survey Assessment to approximately 250-350 local businesses; 2) provide technical assistance to identified distressed businesses; and 3) a "Ask the Expert" Seminar with local businesses and resources. A final report will be presented to the WDB and the Board of Supervisors.
