BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Counsel requests that the Board approve an amendment to the legal services agreement with the law firm of Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver and Wilson. The current agreement for legal services related to the acquisition of right-of-way for the Union Road Bridge project, is for an amount not to exceed $10,000.00, to enable counsel to better assess a scope and budget for completing acquisition services for this project. The amendment provides for legal services, including litigation-related services, should the Board decide to exercise its discretion to initiate actions in eminent domain. The amendment is in an amount not to exceed $215,000.00, for a total contract amount not to exceed $225,000.00.

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the first amendment to the legal services agreement with the law firm of Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver and Wilson, in an amount not to exceed $215,000.00, for a total contract amount not to exceed $225,000.00, for legal services related to the Union Road Bridge project; and
2. Authorize the Board Chair to sign the first amendment to the agreement.
