BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
In April 2016, your Board approved a contract with Pavement Engineering, Inc. (PEI) for County-wide review of roadway pavement condition and development of a software management system called a Pavement Management System. PEI's preliminary report is complete. PEI will present these results, which describe the present and projected future impacts of deferred maintenance and various investment scenarios that can be used to address poor pavement condition across the County. Presently, the County allocates about $500,000 annually to road maintenance, the large majority of which is devoted to labor cost associated with maintaining one road crew.
