Approve and authorize Chair and Chief Probation Officer (CPO) to sign a three year contract with Corrections Software Solutions, L.P. (CSS) for a total cost of $60,192.00 commencing July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2019.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The CPO requests that the Board approve and authorize the Chair and CPO to sign a three year contract with CSS for Probation Department's Case Management Application Software and support services for the San Benito Co. Probation Dept. The monthly maintenance fee remains at $1,672. CSS has not changed their maintenance fees or costs from the original contract signed in February 2010. CSS has been very successful in automating the probation department's functions and continues to be committed to all of our requests.
The contract contains certain terms which favor the Contractor. These terms (limited indemnification, limitation of liability) were contained in previously approved contracts with the County. Contracts with similar terms were recently approved by the Counties of Colusa and Trinity. An internet search has not revealed any better contract that has been entered into with this contractor by another California City or County. This paragraph has been added so that the Board is aware of this issue, but the Board may still approve the contract as presented.
