BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Trindel Insurance Fund requires that each of the participating counties in the Joint Powers Agreement appoint a voting member and an alternate to the Trindel Board of Directors. The County appointed member represents the County on the Insurance Fund Board at the quarterly meetings. In the event that the county appointee is unable to attend, the alternate is authorized to vote in the capacity of the county appointee. All of the decisions that the Trindel Board of Directors are faced with are financial in nature that include the evaluation of actuarial insurance valuations, funding policies and loss reserve considerations to name a few. At the September 10, 2013 meeting of the Board of Supervisors the Board appointed the County Auditor-Controller Joe Paul Gonzalez as Trindel Insurance Fund Board Director and Janet Norris of the Auditor’s Office to serve as the alternate Board Director. On July 1, 2016 Janet Norris retired from County service. Janet’s retirement leaves the alternate Board Director position vacant for the Trindel Insurance Fund.
The action requested is that the Board of Supervisors appoint Clerk of the Board/Interim Management Analyst Louis Valdez of the Administrative Office as the alternate Board Director to the Trindel Insurance Fund Board.
