BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Some clients require inpatient, acute psychiatric hospital services to meet their acute care treatment needs. North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC owns and operates a Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) Inpatient Unit in Yuba City and can provide us with an additional option to meet our adult client’s needs for acute inpatient psychiatric hospital care. In prior years the County Behavioral Health Department contracted to use this Inpatient Unit when it was known as Sequoia Psychiatric Health Facility, which was a component of North Valley Behavioral Health’s services.
We contract with multiple hospitals to increase our options for bed availability. It is our State mandated responsibility to provide inpatient facilities availability for our County MediCal beneficiaries
(3) OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT: Most clients access psychiatric inpatient hospitals via Hazel Hawkins Hospital Emergency Dept. (HHHED) where they receive evaluation from Behavioral Health Department staff. The B.H. staff coordinates with the hospital staff to provide the appropriate associated services.
